Position Overview

Chillicothe First Church of the Nazarene is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Part-Time Children’s Church Leader to help children grow in their knowledge of God and experience the love of Jesus in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment.
The Children’s Church Leader will lead approximately 10 children, ages 5–12, during the sermon portion of our Sunday morning worship service. Children’s Church lasts approximately 30 – 45 minutes each Sunday.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves children, enjoys teaching and creating fun learning experiences, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the spiritual lives of children.

Primary Responsibilities

The Children’s Church Leader will:
– Prepare and lead an engaging, Bible-based lesson each Sunday that helps children learn about God and grow in their faith.
– Lead approximately 10 children, ranging in age from 5–12, during the approximately 30-45 minute sermon portion of Sunday morning worship.
– Incorporate games, activities, object lessons, crafts, discussion, or other creative approaches that make Children’s Church enjoyable and meaningful.
– Adapt lessons and activities to engage children across a variety of ages and developmental levels.
– Provide a welcoming, positive, and Christ-centered environment where every child feels valued and included.
– Coordinate with and utilize adult church volunteers who will assist with supervision and classroom activities.
– Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful Children’s Church environment.
– Communicate with church leadership regarding curriculum, supplies, scheduling, or other Children’s Church needs.
– Follow Chillicothe First Church of the Nazarene’s policies and procedures for the safety and protection of children.

Time Commitment

The primary weekly responsibility is approximately 30 -45 minutes on Sunday mornings during the sermon portion of worship, along with reasonable preparation time during the week to prepare the lesson, games, activities, and necessary materials.
This position does not require leading the children during the entire Sunday morning worship service.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:
– Has a genuine love for children and a desire to help them grow spiritually.
– Is dependable, responsible, and able to consistently serve on Sunday mornings.
– Is comfortable teaching and interacting with children between the ages of 5 and 12.
– Can create a fun, engaging, and well-managed learning environment.
– Is willing to work collaboratively with adult volunteers, parents, and church leadership.
– Supports the Christian faith, mission, and ministry of Chillicothe First Church of the Nazarene.
– Is willing to complete any required background screening and child-safety training.
– Previous experience in children’s ministry, education, childcare, or working on a ministry degree involving children is helpful but not necessarily required.

Compensation

This is a part-time ministry position compensated at $200-$250 per month/$50 per week (paid $100 every two weeks), recognizing both the weekly Sunday morning Children’s Church responsibility and the preparation time required throughout the month.
