Fairmont Central Church of the Nazarene is seeking a part-time Lead Pastor who is called to shepherd, lead, and equip the congregation in fulfilling its mission. This position is well-suited for a bi-vocational pastor, offering flexibility while providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and organizational guidance.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide spiritual leadership through preaching, teaching, and discipleship aligned with Nazarene doctrine
Plan and lead weekly worship services and special services throughout the church year.
Offer pastoral care, including visitation, counseling, and support for congregants.
Equip and empower lay leaders and ministry teams.
Oversee and collaborate on church administration and operations.
Lead efforts in community outreach and evangelism.
Support and encourage church growth and revitalization strategies.
Maintain alignment with the mission and values of the Church of the Nazarene.
Provide leadership connection to and active support of the church’s critical recovery ministry, Compassion Central, ensuring integration with the broader mission and outreach of the congregation
Qualifications
Ordained or willing to pursue ordination in the Church of the Nazarene
Strong commitment to Wesleyan-Holiness theology
Demonstrated ability in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and district officials
A heart for community engagement and outreach
Self-motivated and capable of balancing bi-vocational responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pastoral or ministry leadership experience
Experience in small church or revitalization settings
Strong organizational and communication skills
Salary/Compensation
Competitive part-time salary package ranging from $24,000–$26,000, commensurate with experience.
