Life Change

 

Create an engaging worship experience through interaction with the pastoral staff to plan worship services each week. Each Sunday requires assigning vocal and instrumental teams, rehearsing mid-week and Sunday morning, and leading the congregation in worship, incorporating appropriate song choices for each service and other elements as required for that service.

 

REQUIRED HOURS: Full time office hours, weekly Sunday morning services and occasional special services.

 

REPORTS TO:  Lead Pastor

 

MINISTRY EXPECTATIONS:

 

·        Represent the Gospel and Port Naz not only through leading the worship services, working with the band and all those involved in the elements of the services, but in every area of your life be an example of the love and grace of God as He does a fresh and continual work in your life as you lead His people.

·        Communicate with the Lead Pastor and Pastoral Staff for topic, service flow and other elements to be aware of when planning a set list.

·        Be Spirit led as song choices and band personnel are made. Song choices need to be Biblically and theologically sound. Weekly teams are assigned so that team members are given as many opportunities for involvement as is appropriate by discerning levels of involvement that are neither overinvolved or under involved.

·        Schedule rehearsal time and communicate with the teams regarding assignments and expectations.

·        Choose and introduce new songs on occasion.

·        Be mindful of song keys that are compatible and comfortable with the largest number of congregants as possible.

·        Lead in a way to guide the congregation through worship in song without distractions.

·        Be humble in spirit and allow the worship through song to be a corporate experience without any hint or spirit of performance.

·        Lead the service with skill and preparation, being mindful and intentional in any verbal transitions and knowing the music well, playing memorized if possible.

·        Show grace and love, with encouragement, to challenge your band to present the set with skill and humility, being free of anything that would cause distraction to those you are leading.

·        Use Scripture in conjunction with songs when appropriate.

·        Manage the band during sound check and make sure they are focused and respectful of the audio directors needs and requests.

·        Be in communication with the Pastoral Staff and Tech Director with any suggestions, feedback, concerns and ideas to enhance the worship experience.

·        Be mindful that you represent the Gospel outside the walls of the church and in so doing be mindful of social media, that your posts and links contain language and content that positively represent a life changed for Christ and positively reflect the values of your Port Naz family.
