About Ravenna Church of the Nazarene
Ravenna Church of the Nazarene is a church of Christians who are G.L.A.D.—believers who GO, LOVE, and DO. We are a growing congregation in eastern Kentucky committed to helping people of every generation take their next step with Jesus Christ.
We are seeking a Volunteer Youth Pastor who has a passion for investing in teenagers while growing as a ministry leader. Whether you are exploring God’s call to ministry, pursuing ministerial studies, or looking for a place to gain hands-on experience, we’d love to talk with you.
About the Role
The Youth Pastor will work alongside the Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor, and church volunteers to lead and develop our student ministry for 6th through 12 grade students.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a growing ministry from the ground up. Our student ministry is in its early stages, giving the right leader the opportunity to build relationships, develop ministry strategies, and help establish a culture that will impact students for years to come.
This is a volunteer ministry position designed to provide meaningful leadership experience, mentoring, and opportunities for growth in a healthy local church.

*A genuine love for students and their families.
*A teachable spirit and willingness to grow.
*A heart for discipleship and relationship-based ministry.
*The ability to recruit, encourage, and lead volunteers.
*Agreement with the doctrine and mission of the Church of the Nazarene.
*Responsibilities Provide leadership for our student ministry.
*Build meaningful relationships with middle and high school students.
*Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings.
*Recruit, encourage, and develop adult volunteers.
*Partner with parents in the spiritual growth of their students.
*Help students take their next step with Jesus Christ.

What Ravenna Offers
While this is a volunteer position, we are committed to investing in our leaders through:
*Regular mentoring from two ordained elders.
*Hands-on ministry experience.
*Opportunities to grow in leadership and ministry.
*The opportunity to help shape and build a growing student ministry.
*A supportive church family that desires to see you succeed. *Encouragement, prayer, and references for future ministry opportunities as God leads.
We believe healthy youth ministry is built on authentic relationships and student ownership. Our desire is not simply to run programs, but to help students become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ while empowering them to serve and lead.
We recognize that every pastor has a first ministry. If God is calling you into Youth ministry, Ravenna Church of the Nazarene desires to be a place where you can grow, serve, and discover that calling. If God eventually leads you into ministry elsewhere, we will celebrate having been part of your journey.
