General Description
The Pastor of Care & Support works to turn first-time guests into active members and provides care to support for everyone who calls RidgeNaz their church.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Guest Follow-up & Assimilation system and track engagement of new people until they get connected in a small group and/or serving team
- Schedule Explore RidgeNaz classes & coordinate with staff to teach each class
- Launch new Growth Groups and Equip & support existing group leaders
- Oversee the First Impressions team (Greeters, Café & Connection Center)
- Support the Women’s Ministry Director for effective ministry to women
- Provide care to church and community members by leading, recruiting & training community chaplains
- Communicate prayer requests (including prayer requests from connection cards) with staff and prayer team.
- Coordinate with staff team any care that requires a pastor, including emergency care and the creation and maintenance of care plans when multiple people are providing care and support.
- Coach leaders of support & recovery groups
- Serve as liaison between RidgeNaz & Charis Counseling Associates and any other partner organizations that provide care and support
- Build and maintain relationships with parachurch and other social service agencies to whom we can refer church or community members in times of crisis.
- Coordinate weddings, pre-marriage counseling, funerals and memorial services.
- Attend weekly staff meeting and work with the staff to fulfill the overall ministry of the church.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Supervisor.
Work Experience Requirements
- The qualified applicant will have experience in pastoral care and counseling or chaplain ministries.
- Experience should include (paid or unpaid) experience within a church, preferably a Church of the Nazarene.
