Qualifications/Values

·      Models a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

·      Agrees with and supports the doctrine and policies of the Church of the Nazarene.

·      Is ordained or pursuing ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.

·      Possesses

o   History of volunteer recruitment, retention, training, and management

o   Ability to pass PA State Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Criminal Clearance

o   Ability to contribute in a positive way to larger conversations that take place in staff meetings

·      Demonstrates

o   Ability to execute ministry plans

o   Approachability, integrity, adaptability, maturity, and flexibility.

o   Ability to treat sensitive information that may be discussed in staff meetings as confidential.

·      Approaches life and ministry with Christ-like integrity.

Responsibilities

·      Be a vital part of the ministry team at Waynesburg Nazarene Church.

·      Oversee Youth Ministry at Waynesburg Nazarene

o   Encouraging the Spiritual Formation of our teens

o   Ensuring a safe environment for all students

o   Engaging with and growing a volunteer base

o   Building healthy relationships with current teens and engaging with new teens and families

·      Leading and/or playing a pivotal role in at least one other area of ministry at Waynesburg Nazarene (consistent with the candidate’s giftings and skill set)

·      Communicate effectively with volunteers and the rest of the staff team.

·      Manage resources by:

o   Ensuring that youth spaces are cared for, used appropriately, and expenditures made on the youth budget are for the in the best interests of the growth of our teens

o   Developing, submitting, and providing oversight for the youth budget

·      Build bridges and develop relationships in our community, and further the connection between Waynesburg Nazarene and Greene County by:

o   Being present in the community

o   Engaging with guests and visitors to invite and encourage them to become a part of our church family

·      Coordinate mutually agreed-upon office hours with the Lead Pastor and Office Manager.  This would include participation in regular staff meetings and consistent one-on-one meetings with the Lead Pastor.

·      There may be other responsibilities added to this job description, which would be mutually agreed upon by the Youth Pastor and Lead Pastor.
