Youth & Worship Pastor (Full-Time)

Overview

Journey Church is seeking a passionate, relational, and spiritually grounded Youth & Worship

Pastor to lead our student ministry (middle school and high school) while also providing

leadership and direction for our worship ministry. This role is ideal for a leader who loves

developing students, building teams, and creating meaningful worship experiences that help

people belong, believe, and become.

This is a combined role requiring both pastoral heart and musical/worship leadership ability. The

Youth & Worship Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and staff to advance the mission

and vision of Journey Church.

Key Responsibilities

Youth Ministry (Primary Focus)

● Lead and oversee all aspects of Journey Students (middle school & high school).

● Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, events, and small groups.

● Build authentic relationships with students and families.

● Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders.

● Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and spiritual leadership to students.

● Plan and lead camps, retreats, and mission opportunities.

● Partner with parents to support the spiritual formation of their students.

Worship Ministry

● Lead and oversee Sunday worship experiences in collaboration with the Lead Pastor.

● Plan worship sets that align with sermon themes and church seasons.

● Recruit, train, schedule, and develop worship team volunteers.

● Lead worship on Sundays and special services (holidays, events, etc.).

● Oversee basic worship ministry administration (planning, communication, scheduling).

● Maintain a culture of excellence, humility, and spiritual health within the worship team.

Church-Wide Responsibilities

● Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, and church-wide initiatives.

● Collaborate with other ministry leaders to support the overall mission of Journey Church.

● Model spiritual maturity, integrity, and servant leadership.

● Support outreach and community engagement efforts of the church.

Qualifications

● A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

● A strong calling to youth ministry and worship leadership.

● Ability to lead worship vocally and/or instrumentally (guitar or keys preferred).

● Experience leading youth ministry and/or worship ministry (paid or volunteer).

● Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

● Ability to recruit and empower volunteers.

● Agreement with the mission, vision, and values of Journey Church.

● Ministry training or degree preferred but not required.
