ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF FAMILY LIFE
Position Status:Â This role is appointed for one-year, and it is a part-time position and reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
Salary: We seek to offer a fair and supportive salary that reflects the candidate’s experience, training, and calling to serve within our church family.
Regular Work Hours:Â This role is scheduled for 20 hours per week. The Family Life Pastor is encouraged to observe a weekly Sabbath day, in addition to scheduled working hours, as part of a healthy rhythm of life and ministry

Position Summary:Â The Associate Pastor of Family Life will nurture the spiritual growth of children, youth, and families by providing leadership, discipleship development, and pastoral care. This role oversees and supports ministries serving children and youth, equips leaders and volunteers, and partners with parents to help the next generation grow in Christ. This role works collaboratively with the Lead Pastor, volunteers, and parents as part of a shared ministry team. Our desire is for this role to be life-giving and sustainable. We encourage healthy rhythms of rest, prayer, and teamwork as we serve together.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Discipleship & Ministry Leadership
·       Cultivate an environment where children, youth, and their families can grow in their faith and Christlikeness
·       Provide leadership for children’s and youth discipleship ministries
·       Prepare or support leaders in preparing weekly discipleship content
·       Participate regularly in children’s and youth gatherings and activities
·       Oversee the Children and Youth Bible Quizzing programs
·       Encourage children, youth, and families in service, prayer, and mission opportunities
Volunteer & Parent Engagement
·       Build and equip a ministry team of adults and parents to share in leadership
·       Train, encourage, and support volunteers serving children and youth
·       Partner with parents, helping to equip them as the primary spiritual influencers in the home
Events & Outreach
·       Recruit and resource a team to lead family-oriented church events (Trunk or Treat, Gingerbread Bash, Spring Fest, VBS, etc.)
·       Ensure events are well-planned, safe, and spiritually intentional
Collaboration & Administration
·       Participate in weekly Staff Meetings
·       Maintain weekly office hours (as mutually agreed with the Lead Pastor)
·       Attend monthly board meetings and submit a written ministry report
·       Participate in training and district events as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
·       An annual report will be required at the end of the church year
·       As mandated by the Church of the Nazarene, 20 hours of continuing education per year is expected. The church will support this through scheduling and ministry planning
·       Background check and adherence to our child protection policy is required
Qualifications and Skills:Â The ideal candidate will:
·       possess a bachelor’s degree in a ministry-related field or Master’s degree in a ministry-related field.
·       be Ordained or working towards Ordination in the Church of the Nazarene
·       demonstrate spiritual maturity and emotional health
·       have a passion for walking with children, youth, and their families in their faith journey
·       have strong relationship, organization, and leadership skills
Travel Requirements:Â Travel to various children/youth events would be expected (ie. Quizzing events, camps, district events, etc.)
Conduct:Â The church expects the associate pastor to maintain a thriving personal relationship with Christ through Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. The church expects the associate pastor to live in a manner consistent with the Biblical qualifications for pastors, and the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene (Titus 1:5-9, 1 Tim. 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4).
