Specific duties/expectations include:

· Overseeing the church worship ministry.  This includes planning and leading weekly services, overseeing/delegating the scheduling needs of the team, recruitment of laypersons to fill the various areas of the ministry, planning and executing rehearsal times, collaborating with the lead pastor for specific services and special events, overseeing the budget for this ministry, and shepherding the spiritual needs of individuals involved with this ministry.

· Overseeing our “Love Bridges” outreach ministry, which involves monthly projects that serve the community either on our campus or in our city.  This includes connecting with various contacts in our community, overseeing promotion of this ministry in our church, providing any needed sign ups, helping gather and oversee lay leaders, overseeing the gathering of any needed supplies for projects, overseeing the execution of projects, maintaining the budget for this ministry, and overseeing the annual planning of this ministry.  The lead pastor will provide the training and mentorship for overseeing this ministry, and give continual support, oversight, and guidance as needed.

· Consistent office hours are expected, to be established with the lead pastor.  Proper office hours will be needed for staff meetings, collaboration with the lead pastor and other staff, and availability to meet with church members.  The specific amount of office hours will take into consideration the time invested outside of normal hours such as worship rehearsal and planning, community projects, camps & retreats, etc…

· The associate is expected to attend church services and events, as well as be a part of appropriate ministries (ex: men’s or women’s ministry).

· Associate is expected to progress towards ordination in the Church of the Nazarene if needed, and to participate in district events & ministries as God provides opportunities to do so.

· Associate is expected to maintain a personal relationship with Christ, maintain personal devotional times outside of ministry, and have an accountability partner(s).

· Included with an established salary will be 3 weeks paid vacation, and a generous amount of sick and personal days to maintain a healthy ministry and avoid burnout.  A personal ministry expense budget is also provided.
