Encounter Church of the Nazarene is seeking a friendly, outgoing, energetic pastor. Our ideal pastor would be someone who is positive and upbeat with an interest in getting involved in the community. We would like someone who is a good communicator with excellent conflict resolution skills, who can be a leader and not a dictator. We desire someone who is bold in their love for Christ and who will challenge us to do better!
About Encounter Church of the Nazarene
Encounter Church of the Nazarene sits on a quiet side of town in rural Kenmare, North Dakota. Kenmare is located on the Central North American Trade Corridor, US Highway 52. Kenmare sits 40 miles from the major customs port of Portal and just 50 miles from an international airport in Minot. The quaint, quiet little town of Kenmare is predominantly a farming and oil field community, known for its beautiful authentic Danish windmill in the downtown square, its breathtaking views of the Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge, and its Snow Geese! Kenmare has a lot to offer, from golf and fishing in the warmer months to hunting and sledding in the colder months. Kenmare is a very family-oriented community and is home to Kenmare Public Schools, with outstanding programs and community support. Encounter Church of the Nazarene, previously named Kenmare Church of the Nazarene was established in 1950. Currently, our average attendance is around 32 people every Sunday, which includes a wide array of ages. The congregation at Encounter Church of the Nazarene is a very friendly, united, passionate, and loving congregation who all work very well together and love time in fellowship with one another. The congregation has a deep desire to help the community and has a wide outreach within Kenmare and surrounding communities. Encounter Church of the Nazarene has a parsonage located a few blocks from the church. The parsonage has 4 bedrooms, and 1- and one-half bathrooms upstairs, with newer flooring upstairs and newer appliances! There is a full basement downstairs with potential for an apartment, family room, or more bedrooms, and 2 separate bathrooms. The parsonage has lots of storage space and a large shed in the backyard!
